When my family helped load up my car to come back to Waco, I was convicted about the amount of material possessions that I have. Often times, I am so distracted by the things that I own, I seem to forget about the One who really matters--my Jesus. I think the feelings that I have are summed up really well by this blogger friend (more like a very, very distant friend whom I've never met, I just really like :)). So, starting tonight, my roommates and I are simplifying--clothing, school supplies, shoes, etc.
Lord Jesus, refine our hearts and wash away the dirty places consumed with Earthly treasures.
Don't hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or--worse!--stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth and rust and burglars. It's obvious, isn't it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.
