ready.

The beginning of a new year means the beginning of a new adventure, and I am ready. I love that life with Jesus is never the same—it is a daring adventure that He is inviting us into!

As a part of that adventure, I am so thankful that the Lord gives us seasons—not just weather seasons, but life seasons. I love waiting on the Lord for a new word that defines each season. Still waiting on my word for this season, but I know it’s going to be good!

At the start of my new adventure, I am embarking on a 365-day photo project…because I want to. Woo! I struggled for awhile to come up with a title because I didn’t really want the word “I” in the title (I didn’t want it to seem selfish?), but little bloggy world, it’s okay. It’s my blog—so I did it! Each day will start with an adjective that captures my experience of trying to live in this great big world, but not be of this great big world. I’m really excited!

I pray this year, Lord, that these words would mark me: humble, obedient, and teachable. Father, please use this year to transform me by the renewing of my mind, so that I may be able to discern what Your good, pleasing, and perfect will is. My prayer is that I would be challenged like never before, be consistently placed in uncomfortable situations, and learn to love like Jesus all the way through. The uncomfortable situations are where I am most changed, so Lord, let your will be done.

{1/365}

Goodbye, 2011, and thanks for all of the fun: SING, cramming for the GRE, Alaina’s graduation, Pine Cove/Rooted, Italy, no more gluten?, Indonesia, Lipscomb wedding, Mrs. Jaster’s class, San Diego, Pigskin, healing, wow. Jesus is faithful and good all of the time, so come on 2012, I’m ready!

P.S. I cannot promise you that all 365 pictures/posts will be accompanied by many words…some may have no words at all. Why, you ask? Because honestly, people, there may not always be time for super wordy picture posts. Oh, well! This is an adventure and adventures include change, right? Thanks for understanding, bloggy world. I knew you would.
